# View Resource Details

Use the resource details page to view detailed information about each resource.

You can check resource properties, review associated expenses, and see any pool constraints applied through resource policies. From the same page, you can also add an assignment rule if needed.

### Viewing resource details

To view resource details and add an assignment rule:

1. From the sidebar, navigate to the **Resources** page.
2. (Optional) [Use resource filters](/insights/resources.md#using-resource-filters) to display specific resources, or use **search** to find the required resource.
3. In the **Resource** column, select the link for the resource to view.
4. On the resource details page, use the **Details**, **Constraints**, and **Expenses** tabs to view the data.
5. To create a new assignment rule, select **Add Assignment Rule**. For more details, see [Configure Assignment Rules](/insights/pools/add-assignment-rules.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.finops.softwareone.com/insights/resources/view-resource-details.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
